Optimal Engineering Systems Releases Four Serial Communication Controlled Solenoid Drivers

Oct. 20, 2022 - Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc. (OES) has released four Solenoid Drivers that are configured via TTL serial communications.  These low cost, very high reliability, microcomputer based, compact 76.2 mm by 76.2 mm (3.00 in. by 3.00 in.) solenoid drivers are ideal for solenoids, relays, actuators and electromagnets in applications such as: Mixing, disconnects, door controls, cabinet locks, fire suppression systems, vending machines, valve control, transmission shifting, sorting, and farm machinery. These solenoid drivers can also be used for proportional solenoid control.
 
Two Serially Controlled Low Side Drivers, the SCSD-01 and the SCSD-02, are for 1 and 2 devices respectively, and two High Side Drivers are SCSD-03 and the SCSD-04.
 
 Requiring a single supply from +9 VDC to +50 VDC, these serially controlled TTL level (Transistor-Transistor-Logic) drivers feature: programmable pick times, hold voltages, and separate PWM frequencies per channel.  The output current can be as high as 20 Amps per channel.
 
Microcomputers, PCs, IPCs, and PLCs using programs such as: C/C++, Python, Visual Basic, and LabViewTM, can be used to send simple text messages for configuration. The RS-232 to TTL module, USB to TTL module, and Ethernet, an LAN, LAN to TTL module, allow other formats of communications to TTL signals.
