March 30, 2023 - Beamex has recently launched an important functionality update for its HART-enabled MC6 Advanced Field Calibrator and Communicator family. The update is included in firmware version 4.40, which was released in February 2023 and enables MC6 users to partially calibrate air-operated valves by powering up the valve controller, generating the input mA signal and reading the digital output signal with just one device.
Valves are crucial components in almost every process industry, and like other instrumentation, they require regular calibration to maintain reliability and accuracy as well as enable continuous performance improvement. With this new functionality, MC6 users can partially calibrate air-operated valves and automatically transfer the calibration results to their Beamex Calibration Management Software.
"Since its introduction in 2012, we have been continuously developing and updating the MC6 family of calibrators to expand its functionalities in response to the needs of our diverse customer base. As a multifunction calibrator with a built-in field communicator, the MC6 can replace several single-function devices, reducing the number of tools technicians need to carry. The addition of this new functionality for valve linearity testing makes the MC6 an even more versatile tool," said Antti Mäkynen, Product Manager, Beamex.
